About Central Maine Community College

Central Maine Community College (CMCC) is a comprehensive, public two-year college that delivers career and technical degree programs; education for transfer to baccalaureate programs; and services to support economic development and community vitality. The College offers 41 degrees, certificates, and advanced certificate programs in fields such as computer technology, business administration, nursing, criminal justice, and medical assisting. Technical programs include automotive, building construction, electromechanical, graphic communications, and precision machining. With more than 3000 students, a committed faculty and staff, on-campus housing, athletics, and student activities, CMCC offers a full campus experience with the lowest tuition in New England.

Central Maine Community College (CMCC) is an approved institution for the training of veterans and their dependents. We encourage you to meet with this official if you have any questions. The Veterans Club at CMCC is a student organization of veterans and friends of veterans. The club meets regularly during the academic year to plan activities and to receive information from selected guest speakers on topics of interest to veterans and their families.

A program that prepares individuals to assess the security needs of computer and network systems, recommend safeguard solutions, and manage the implementation and maintenance of security devices, systems, and procedures. Includes instruction in computer architecture, programming, and systems analysis; networking; telecommunications; cryptography; security system design; applicable law and regulations; risk assessment and policy analysis; contingency planning; user access issues; investigation techniques; and troubleshooting.

Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machinist Technology/CNC Machinist

A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as lathes, mills, precision measuring tools, and related attachments and accessories, to perform machining functions, such as cutting, drilling, shaping, and finishing products and component parts. Includes instruction in CNC terminology, setup, programming, operations, and troubleshooting; blueprint reading; machining; lathe and mill operations; technical mathematics; computer literacy; CAD/CAM systems; shop and safety practices; equipment capabilities; and regulations and laws.

Culinary Arts/Chef Training

A program that prepares individuals to provide professional chef and related cooking services in restaurants and other commercial food establishments. Includes instruction in recipe and menu planning, preparing and cooking of foods, supervising and training kitchen assistants, the management of food supplies and kitchen resources, aesthetics of food presentation, and familiarity or mastery of a wide variety of cuisines and culinary techniques.
