Pennsylvania Gunsmith School
The Pennsylvania Gunsmith School® is located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Avalon, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1949, PGS has provided thousands of students with a superior education in Gunsmithing and Gunsmithing-related fields. Pennsylvania Gunsmith School’s® mission is to train students in traditional, modern and innovative Gunsmithing techniques through a hands-on, in-person approach. Students will achieve the foundation necessary to “Think like a Gunsmith™”, providing opportunity for gainful employment in the firearms industry. The Pennsylvania Gunsmith School® strives to promote confidence, awareness, appreciation, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in each student as they complete their training to become Master Gunsmiths.

Why you should attend?
Historically, veterans have made up 1/3 to 1/2 of our student population. Veterans appreciate our in person, hands on program; the respect they are given here; the opportunity to use their experience and leadership skills to mentor younger students; the way our school can ease the transition from military to civilian life; and the fact that 2 of our 4 instructors are veterans. At PGS, veterans don’t have to figure everything out on their own. Our entire staff and especially our VA School Certifying Official are dedicated to helping PGS veterans and are ready, willing and able to help.
