South Texas College

South Texas College was founded in 1993 by the Texas Senate Bill 251 to serve Hidalgo and Starr counties. South Texas college is accredited by the Commission on colleges of the Southern Association of colleges and Schools to award certificates, associates, and baccalaureate degrees. South Texas College offers over 120 degrees programs and certifications as well as continuing, professional and workforce educational programs and Dual Credit courses for eligible high school students. South Texas College has locations conveniently located throughout Hidalgo and Starr counties. In addition, South Texas College also has Workforce Training and Higher Education Centers.

Why you should attend?

South Texas College supports military service members and veterans with access to Admissions, Veteran Affairs, Financial Aid, Counseling and Advising within one building. Students have open door access to Certifying Officials, Assistance applying for VA educational Benefits, computer labs, and the Fox Hole Study room for veterans who need a quite area of study. Military service members and veterans have access to online degrees for easy access to education and evaluation of military transcripts for educational credit. Additionally, students are provided Peer-to-Peer support from fellow veterans.
