Jefferson Community College

Jefferson Community College (JCC) is one of 30 community colleges within the 64 campus State University of New York (SUNY) system. It is the only college within a 50 mile radius of the city of Watertown, NY., and within 10 minutes of the Fort Drum U.S. Army installation. JCC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. JCC offers 17 A.A.S., 21 transfer A.A. or A.S., and 10 certificate programs. JCC has articulation agreements with colleges and universities across the United States. The Higher Education Center partners with nine four-year institutions to provide opportunities for community members to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees locally. JCC’s Faculty have earned numerous awards for Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Scholarship and Creativity, and 3 Distinguished Professorships

Jefferson Community College (JCC) offers educational opportunities and services for soldiers, and veterans. JCC is committed to easing the transfer of relevant course credits, providing flexible academic residency requirements, and crediting learning from appropriate military training. JCC awards the maximum credit for military training and experience based upon the American Council on Education's credit recommendations as listed on the servicemember's Joint Services Transcript for Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. JCC also accepts credits from the Community College of the Air Force, Defense Language Institute, and other accredited military institutions. JCC's full-time Veteran Services Coordinator oversees all veteran programs - GI Bill processing, advising, tutoring, veteran's lounge, club, student workers, etc.
